I previously had a traumatic root canal experience with a reputable endodontist in Winston. The office felt like a cattle call, and despite the procedure, I never found relief from the pain. That tooth eventually had to be removed, and I was left with long-term nerve pain in my face. When I needed another root canal, I did extensive research and found Dr. Robin McGurkin-Smith, and everything about this experience was different in the best way. Dr. McGurkin-Smith took her time to explain everything thoroughly and treated me with respect and care. She stays current on the latest research in endodontics, which clearly informs her meticulous and patient-centered approach. She’s a true perfectionist in the chair, spending as much time as needed at both appointments to ensure the procedure was done with precision and set up for the best possible outcome. While the healing period was challenging, they were upfront about the variability in recovery time. Now that the inflammation has subsided, I’m incredibly pleased with the results, Dr. McGurkin-Smith did an impeccable job. My only minor complaint is that, aside from a few genuinely kind team members, some of the office staff come off

Putting into words, isn’t enough for the amazing experience I received and the patient care the professionalism the genuine love from Dr. Smith and Her Amazing nurse(cannot remember her name) I had an emergency root canal, so much pain it was unexplainable, and instantly they helped. I’m forever grateful for the professionalism and precious care I received during my visit at this office. I have told everybody about my experience. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Smith!!!! If you can start falling asleep during a root canal, you know you’re in good hands! Everyone at this office is really sweet and helpful. I felt no pain at all during the procedure, and was so relaxed I actually started dozing off. For anyone who feels nervous about getting oral surgery of any kind, I can’t recommend Dr. McGurkin-Smith highly enough!

Very pleasant experience (as pleasant as root canals can get). They made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. They were extremely welcoming and caring. Crystal is so sweet and you can tell she really cares about her patients. I 1000 percent recommend to everyone, especially if you have dental anxiety!.

Dr. Smith and her team are amazing. They are professional and efficient. It is like watching a well choreographed dance. My appreciation is deep because I had another Endodontist tell me he had to pull the tooth and could not fix it. However, Dr. Smith explained what she would do and the cost and she saved my tooth. That was 2 years ago and all is great. She has taken away severe pain on 3 other molars that needed root canals. She fixed another that was 20 year old work. She is out of network for my insurance but worth every penny I pay personally. Her assistants are all excellent and her office staff is top notch. If you want the best in Endo care call her office. You will be glad you did.
